New (to me) Pickup

I've been looking for a 3/4 ton crewcab pickup for a couple of months, and finally found one that had the options that I wanted, (plus a few more), and was priced right. It is a 2005 Chevrolet 2500HD with a Duramax diesel engine and Allison automatic transmission. It has around 37K miles on it, leather seats, 50-gallon fuel tank, 5th wheel hitch, XM satellite radio, and much more. Fuel mileage without a trailer is about 20.5 on the highway, but I may be able to coax another 1.5MPG out of it.

I've still got the '03 Silverado and will sell it after Thanksgiving. I spent the week-end cleaning up the '05. The previous owner, (in San Antonio), parked it outside and it had a bunch of leaves and CRUD in the bed behind the big tool box, so I took the tool box out for a thorough cleaning. I also removed the 5th wheel hitch and stored it. The mounting rails for the 5th wheel hitch may also be used for a gooseneck hookup, so they WILL be used. I have off on Tuesday, (Veteran's Day), and plan to clay-bar and wax the '05 then. Sometime I need to go to San Antonio to pickup a couple of mounting "legs" for the 5th wheel hitch from the previous owner. I plan to use these "legs" to fabricate a gooseneck hitch.

Until next time...
