Road Trip, Day 5

After spending the night in Virginia last night, I drove south on I-81. Just a few miles north of the Tennessee border, traffic came to a halt. It took me over an hour to go 5 miles. I thought that it was construction, but it turned out to be a "truck rescue". The authorities evidently had to pull a tractor-trailer rig out of a clump of trees right next to the interstate. To do this they had to block both south bound lanes while they cut down some trees and pulled the rig out.

I made it to Memphis, and looked for a motel, but didn't find one that was convenient; so I went on the West Memphis, Arkansas and got a room at the Hampton Inn.

I'm going to drive to Dallas tomorrow, and spend the night there before driving on to Big Spring. I'll probably arrive in Big Spring around noon. While I'm in Dallas, I'm going to go up to Denton Saturday night and watch the Booths run their ProMod car at the track there.
