Road Trip

Charlie and I made a quick trip to the Valley, (went Saturday morning and returned Sunday afternoon).

We arrived at Mothers around 10:40 Saturday morning, left our bags and went over to McAllen to see the pickup at Camco, (Francis went along). They have made a lot of progress with the "metal work" (cutting out rust spots and welding in patch panels), but haven't started the "body work" yet which will consist of applying body filler, sanding, and the putting on a coat of epoxy primer to seal the metal. We have a 2 to 4 week estimate for it to be finished.

Jim Cameron showed Charlie a couple of his play-toys, a 1937 Ford pickup (very high-tech and custom built), and a 1957 Chevrolet 2-door sedan that Jim built for a customer of his. Jim pulled my trailer out to the street so I could hook it up to the truck and get some pictures. After lunch, we returned to Mother's home in Edinburg. Charlie and I then went over to Kevin's home for a short visit, then out to Klement's Grove to get some oranges. While we were there, we stopped by Jay and Becky Hanshaw's home next to Klement's Grove. We really enjoyed the visit with Jay and Becky. After leaving the Hanshaw's we went to get some Pizza Hut pizza to take to Mother's for supper.

Sunday morning, Charlie and I went to Denny's and met Chris Wicker there for breakfast. Charlie and Chris - what a pair, :). We left for the return trip home around 9AM, and I had Charlie home by 2PM.

Until next time...
