Quick Valley Trip

I went to the Valley Saturday around 4AM. Arrived at Mother's around 9:15 and visited with her and Francis for a while, then Francis and I went over to Camco to check on my truck bodywork progress. Gene had gotten started, but really hadn't advanced too far. They had to put some more rust-inhibitor, (metal-prep), on the bare metal before continuing with the body work. We found that both front fenders are in pretty bad shape, and will probably be cheaper to replace with Goodmark replacements, rather than fixing the old ones. The front radiator support may need to be replaced as well, it has some bottom bracing that is completely rusted away. Jim is going to take a look at that and I'll get his recommendation before I order the parts. I am able to get the Goodmark items from a supply company in Hewitt, (just north of Temple).

Saturday night, I went out to the race track at Edinburg, where I met Kevin and Laura, Billy Penland, (Rene and Frances also). I got to see a lot of friends that I hadn't seen in 2 or 3 years, and some wonderful barbeque. Billy had beef and chicken fajitas, shrimp, pico, guacamole, chips, and the list went on and on. The grilling got a late start, so it was around 9:30 before we ate, and it was DELICIOUS, (thanks Billy, Kevin, and Laura).

I returned home Sunday morning and will probably take a short nap before I go outside in the 100+ degree heat to get the yard mowed and trimmed.

Have a great week,
