LONG Day

I had told my boss, Mike Trammell, that I would help him put a gooseneck hitch in his 3/4 ton pickup, and we had it scheduled for Wednesday, but he couldn't make it. We decided to do it today, the instructions said that it would only take 2 hours, (I had told him that I was going to the Valley). We started around 8:30, and didn't finish until about 4PM, several things went wrong, and we didn't have some of the tools required. When was the last time you saw a 1.5" socket for a 1/2" drive ratchet or breaker bar? He bought one at Auto Zone for a 3/4" drive ratchet, and got an adapter to make it work with the 1/2" ratchet. Our torque wrenchs wouldn't go to the 640 lb/ft of torque, (ours go only to 160 lb/ft). We put it together, and everything is right except the torque on these 1" bolts. He's going to go to a tractor repair shop to get the final tightening done.

I had planned to leave for the Valley around 2PM, but now I will wait until early Saturday morning, and should get there around 9:00 - 9:30.

Have a great week-end, I know that I will.
