Charlie came over Saturday, and we got some more work done on the steering column installation. He fitted the steering column bracket to the dash, and still needs to detail the bracket and polish it, (aluminum). I got the intermediate steering shaft installed, then put on the front end sheet metal. I also got the tailpipes cut off in preparation for installing the stainless steel extensions. Charlie took the rear roll pan and is going to install the taillight "buckets". The "buckets" will allow the taillights to be frenched into the rear roll pan. The taillights are for a 1941-1948 Chevrolet sedan, with LED conversions, (taillight/brake light/turn signal). The backup lights will be mounted on the plate that I installed behind the fuel tank, (and under the roll pan). When Charlie finishes up with the taillights in the roll pan, I'll install the roll pan to double check the exhaust tip location, then tack-weld the extensions in place. There are two things left to do before the truck is ready for paint, (dash insert and console). Hopefully we can get those things finished up in the next month or two.
Until next time...
